This may seem like a luxury item, but now that I have had these in my pantry for over six months, I would say they are a necessity. ;) The ability to see our food and easily access it has made a huge difference. In addition, it's a great reminder when you open the pantry to incorporate eating whole foods rather than boxed and processed foods. When the whole foods remain in boxes and bags, they look more equal nutritionally to the other foods in processed containers.
There are other brand containers, but we like the easy pop top feature of these, and they have been great at keeping our ingredients air tight and fresh.

AFFORDABLE HOME WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM
We have used this Berkey water filtration system since around 2011. It has been wonderful having the peace of mind knowing our water doesn't contain the typical toxins found in regular tap water. Since water is a fundamental thing we need to drink constantly, this is a critical part of our healthy routine.
I also like that you can buy the filters once and they will last for years. This can also travel with you if necessary. A great investment and very effective at removing harmful things found in drinking water.

This has been a favorite on days when I set the goal to drink 1 gallon of water a day. I fill it in the morning with Berkey filtered water and set a 16 oz glass jar beside it. Every 1-2 hours, I pour a glass of water, drink it right then, and move on with the day. I have been amazed at how simple this makes it to break down the goal into 2 hour blocks.
